The name Charlotte’s Web & Graphic Design was inspired by my beautiful daughter. When I had Charlotte three years ago, I decided that I did not want to give up doing what I loved, designing, but I also wanted to be at home raising my child instead of putting her in full time day care, so Charlotte’s Web & Graphic design was born! I am now able to continue doing the work that I love and still be at home with my children.
The Graphic Arts industry is ever changing so, in order to further advance my skills and offer my clients the best possible product with the latest in trends and technology, I am currently working to achieve a Master Certificate in Web Design and Graphic Design from SAIT in addition to the Digital Graphics Communications Diploma that I earned in 2005.
After you take a look at my qualifications and portfolio I hope you will give me a chance to help you realize whatever goal you are trying to achieve and bring your ideas to life!
I am currently working to obtain a Master Design Certificate of Achievement with a master in both Web Design and Graphic Design. I will be updating my skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Dreamweaver as well as learning Flash. I will also be expanding my knowledge of XHTML and learning Javascript and PHP.
The Digital Graphics Communications Program is a two year diploma program that covers the printing industry from concept to completion. I became proficient in QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PageMaker and Acrobat Professional. I received my diploma with a 4.0 GPA and graduated with honors.
I was hired at Front2back while doing my practicum there through the DGC program at SAIT. During my time there, I worked on a variety of projects such as business cards, posters, annual reports, manuals, catalogues, presentation folders, vinyl cut lettering and large format signage. I gained extensive experience in the afore mentioned software programs as well as designing for a large variety of substrates.
For just under a year I worked part-time as a graphic designer for the Calgary Catholic School District where I expanded my portfolio doing a wide variety of projects for various schools. My time there was cut short due to the arrival of our baby boy.
